Understand foods that contain cholesterol

Cholesterol is the most important thing to look  when having to eat heart healthy food. There is good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. Good cholesterol is called HDL, and their work in the body is removing excess bad cholesterol (LDL) to the liver, where it can be broken down and then it will leave the body. LDL is not really needed by your body at all from food. Our body is enough to make this kind of cholesterol by itself. This is the LDL cholesterol that hurts our hearts, not the HDL cholesterol, which actually helps our livers to reduce the amount of LDL cholesterol in the body.

LDL or bad cholesterol

LDL stands for low-density lipoprotein. Because this substance has a low density, it does not flow through the bloodstream as easily as it should. The red blood cells easily release LDL cholesterol and stick to the walls of your blood vessels, especially in the arteries leading to your heart. This is bad for a number of reasons.

The effects of LDL cholesterol

First, when LDL cholesterol accumulates in your arteries, it reduces the amount of blood that can enter well at one time, because the arteries become smaller. That means your heart has to pump harder and faster to allow the same amount of blood to flow through your body. Over time, this makes your heart tired and not as strong. In the worst case scenario, the blood vessels become so awakened with LDL cholesterol that your arteries can close completely. When this happens, your heart is basically panicked because it does not get the blood it needs and starts to beat fast to try to pump blood. This causes a heart attack.

Heart attack caused bad cholesterol

You can also have a heart attack from LDL cholesterol that builds up if a piece of buildup, called plaque, breaks and floats in the bloodstream. When it reaches the smaller part of the blood vessels, it gets trapped and blocks the blood, which again causes a heart attack. If a piece of plaque moves to the brain and not in the heart, it will cause a blockage in this area of the body, which in turn causes a stroke. Therefore, it is very important to cut your food from foods high in cholesterol so you can prevent heart disease and other problems in the body.
