Thyme leaves benefits for health

Thyme is a very popular and famous culinary herb. It is a very decorative plant as it grows and is also very easy to grow as well but be prepared because of the bees like Thyme. Many people use Thyme in stews, soups, salads, meats, and also vegetables. Thyme is a very common household herb and is a member of the mint family. This plant is very aromatic and present in many varieties. Thyme is a herb that is often used in many fish dishes. Strangely, just as honeybees like to suck nectar from Thyme plants just like any other insect hates it. Some people have been known to make Thyme and water mist spray and use it as an insect repellent.

Various forms of Thyme are available throughout the year but many people prefer to grow on their own. Nothing beats the smell and taste of fresh Thyme as long as you know to choose it as the flowers appear. Once the fresh Thyme is harvested, it should be stored in a plastic bag in the crisper or stand upright on a glass of water on the shelf in the refrigerator for easy access.

The bad news, fresh Thyme does not have a very long shelf life, you'll be lucky if it lasts a week. If you have chosen fresh Thyme and decided to raise it, simply hang it into a warm and dry atmosphere for about a week to ten days. Then you can crush it into flour shape and stored in a darkened container covered for no more than six months. You want to remove the stems because it has a tendency to have a sense of wood to them.

Thyme has several treatment goals as well as antiseptic, expectorant, and deodorant properties as well. When combined with Thyme fatty meat has been known to aid digestion as well, especially with sheep, pigs, and ducks. Herbal remedies have been using Thyme for various things such as extract, tea, compress, for bathing, and for mouthwash. More modern medicine has replied and proves that Thyme may strengthen the immune system.

Thyme Distilled oils have been used for commercial use of antiseptics,  mouthwashes, toothpaste, mouth rinses, dandruff shampoo, hair conditioners,  potpourri, and also insects repellant. It is also used in the production of certain expectorants that are prescribed for a whooping cough and bronchitis. Thyme has also been used as an aphrodisiac and aromatherapy oils as well.

If by chance you are in the middle of a recipe calling Thyme and you feel wrong, it is said you can use a dash of oregano instead if you have to do it. Thyme is very often used when cooking European cuisine but it is very important for the preparation of proper French food because it has a faint level feel to it. It has also been said that Thyme is the only herb that cannot be cooked by the chef because it feels very light. Thyme is the main ingredient that everybody should have in their kitchen.
